First you must define what prosperity means to you. Is it your ability to comfortably meet all your financial responsibilities? Bills paid with time to take vacations and do hobbies? An investment portfolio that is compounding interest for you? Freedom to do what you want, whenever you want?
Step 1: My definition of prosperity is [fill in the blank].
Once you have clearly defined your version of prosperity, create a plan to live it. This can include from your big picture vision to your day-to-day life. I recommend envisioning your big picture first and reverse engineering down to the details of your daily life.
For example: Big picture vision – Own a house that is mortgage free, pay all my bills from the art I sell and travel to a new county each year for a month’s visit. Here is a broad overview of all the actions and questions you’d ask yourself to shape your vision: from day-to-day life to manifest the big picture vision – Research the neighborhood I want to live in and the housing market. Based on research how much am I prepared to invest in a home as a cash buyer? Track the housing market and visit properties for sale. Invest in art materials. Market and teach an art class. Do 3 hours painting per day. Build relationships with art galleries. Decide what to sell my art pieces for? Sell my art on online platforms. Find out what percentage platforms and galleries take as a commission. Is it still profitable for me to sell for this dollar amount? Donate a painting to a charity auction to do good and bring awareness to the community of my offerings. Research what countries most interest me, get pricing and budget to travel to India.
Step 2: Make a plan for your vision of prosperity.
Get a dedicated planner, notebook or use your computer calendar and notes application to map out the specifics of the plan. It’s impossible to get the plan done in one day, especially if you have a true big picture vision. The more actions you divide up your plan into on separate days, the more you’ll believe in your ability to create the prosperity your heart desires.
For example: I will take one action toward my vision today, that moves it toward reality.
Monday: Research the best price and quality of art materials.
Tuesday: Purchase art materials and create painting schedule for the month ahead.
Wednesday: Work on what feels the right amount to sell my paintings for?
Thursday: Attend art gallery opening in Venice, CA.
Friday: Research best art seller online platform for my style of work.
Saturday: Create flyer to teach art class.
Sunday: Visit an open house in the neighborhood for a maximum budget of $1.2m.
Step 3: Create a daily action plan to bring your version of prosperity to life.
If you follow these steps diligently, you’ll find several things happening that will amaze you!
Your intuition will begin to support you in grounding your vision into prosperity living. Meaning you’ll have the ability to slow down and trust that things are working in your favor because overall, your life FEELS BETTER and this gives you the emotional strength to keep taking daily action, even when you don’t see the big picture results you want.
The biggest mistake someone makes in realizing their version of prosperity is they take a handful of actions and get disheartened when they don’t see their big picture materialized. Some things will come about quickly for you and other things may take years. If you really want a certain thing, you’ll find joy in the marathon, rather than see it as something grueling.
The last tool I’ll leave you with is the idea of SIMPLICITY. I know you know what it is but when you integrate it into your life as a daily practice in direct relationship to your big picture vision, it’s incredibly rewarding. To get your ball rolling towards a new level of simplicity in your life, what is one area you’ll focus on now: health, career, relationships or finances? Once, you’ve picked a focus, what is one way you can simplify this aspect of your life?
For example: I’m going to focus on health. The one way I’ll simplify my life is I’m going to create a meal plan for the week with a shopping list of foods that are agreeable to my wellbeing.
In the photo is me with my family on a private jet in Las Vegas. Several years ago, I took a photo of a lady in a private jet and glued it into my vision notebook. It was a special and memorable experience, especially with my son who loves airplanes!
